Hospital Days

Jerri Lynn had lots of visitors in the hospital. The first visitor was from a staff member at church. He came in the delivery room and thought that I was laboring. He said, so when do you think she will be born? We laughed and said-"She is already here!" Mom was holding her. It was so funny. I had such an easy delivery and was so blessed to feel so good! Aunt Debra, Gracie, Emily Anne and Reid visited. We had fun comparing Reid and Jerri Lynn. They were almost the same size. Charlie said, "Come here baby!" and tried to pull Jerri Lynn off the bed. Buck and Eli were so sweet holding Jerri Lynn. Thanks to Buck for taking such good care of Charlie while we were in the hospital. He even changed his stinky diaper. We went home from the hospital 2 days later and Jerri Lynn slept the whole way home. We even stopped to pick up dinner and it was a 25 minute wait and she just slept! First week at home- sleep, sleep, sleep!!!

Jerri Lynn's Birthday!

Steph and her family finally arrived around 4:45 a.m. and CJ and I were on our way to the hospital. Charlie woke up too and was so excited to see his cousins! We headed to the hospital and everybody else went back to bed! We got admitted to the hospital and shortly after Dr. Keller came in and broke my water and started Pitocin around 7 am. I was in labor!! The nurse kept offering me an epidural, so I went ahead with one. The contractions had just started to get painful when the anestheisiologist arrived. My blood pressure dropped and I had to have some epinephrine. CJ was enjoying watching sports on TV until I kindly suggested that I didn't want to watch that! When I was dialated to 5cm we called for Mom, Stephanie and Kailee to come on to the hospital. Randy, Buck and Eli stayed at home with Charlie. Thank goodness they got there when they did, because I was 7 1/2 cm when they arrived and 10 minutes later I was 10 and the nurse said, "Don't push, the doctor is delivering another baby!" I was so relieved when Dr. Keller walked through those doors in just a few minutes! 3 pushes and Jerri Lynn was born at 3:09 pm!!! She weighed 8lbs and was 20inches long. She slept and slept and slept!! We are praying her laid back personality continues with her spirited brother! Charlie came to meet his little sister and was so sweet with her. He said, "baby- I like it, Jerri Lynn." Buck, Eli, and Uncle Randy came too. We are thrilled to have a little girl in the family after 16 years.

Today we will meet Jerri Lynn!

It is 4:20 a.m. and CJ and I have been awake since around 1:30. We are just too excited to sleep! We have to be at the hospital at 5:30. My sister and her family are still not here. They didn't leave SC until around 8:00 pm. Praying they travel safely- it is rainy here. Being pregnant this time has truly flown by. Did I mention how excited we are! Our prayer for Jerri Lynn is that she will love the Lord with all her heart, soul, strength and mind- and that CJ and I will be the parents that God has commissioned us to be.

Tuesday is the day!

We had our final doctor's appointment today. Jerri Lynn's heartbeat was really fast at first 180 and then it dropped to 160. I am 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. We are to be at Labor and Deliver on Tuesday the 16th at 5:30 am. They will start an IV, give me Pitocin and hopefully get an epidural shortly after! We can't wait to meet our baby girl. I think I am going to try to take Charlie to the doctor tomorrow, because he still feels so bad. I need him well when he meets his little sister!!

False alarm!

I woke up at 12:30 coughing and thought my water had broken. I wasn't for sure, so I went back to sleep and we called the doctor this morning and went in to get checked! It wasn't my water!!! Ree is on her way and that makes us feel so much better. Charlie is running a 102 fever, so we don't want to leave him with Debra to get her baby sick. We both will feel relieved when Mom gets here. Last night, we left Charlie with a babysitter for the first time- it was his Sunday School teacher and he loves her. It was so nice to not worry about him! CJ and I went to hear Josh McDowell talk at our church. We also went the night before and I had contractions every 2-3 minutes for 4 hours! They were just Braxton-Hicks! So, I go back to the doctor on Thursday and then the plan is to induce on Tuesday the 16th! We shall see!

Our doctor is ready to induce 2 weeks from today- Dec. 9th. He said we can wait another week, but my baby is going to be big! Halloween Fun!

Charlie had so much fun trick or treating!! He got to do 2 of his favorite things- ring doorbells and eat candy. He had a bite of every single piece of candy he got through the wrapper. He was so funny. He wanted to go in everyone's home and was sweet to say, "Thank you" "Bye," and to blow kisses to everybody. My camera is terrible, but here are a few pictures! Oh- he was a monkey!

Web cam

Charlie loves to talk to Grandma and Grampa on the webcam. Here is a picture of him playing peek-a-boo!

Pumpkin Patch!

Last Saturday we went on a hayride to a pumpkin patch. It was on a farm, so we got to pet lots of animals. Charlie got licked by a goat, pet a rabbit, chased ducks, pet ponies, saw a llama (he called it a camel), saw a buffalo, and pet some dogs. He even got to ride a pony. He tried to climb a rock wall and raked in the pumpkin patch. He loves pumpkins, so we had to stop at a church that had a pumpkin patch for him to play. Charlie and Daddy are going to carve a pumpkin before Halloween- so, Daddy can eat the seeds!!!

More Jerri Lynn photos!

Here are a few more pictures of our precious little girl! Mom thinks she looks like Charlie- but, I don't see the chubby cheeks like Char Char has. She looks like she has her daddy's lips! She is truly miracle. Last night, we think she had the hiccups. We just kept feeling thump after thump. CJ said she didn't like the way I was laying and made me get up- but, she just kept on thumping!!! Oh, forgot to mention that Charlie fell asleep during the ultrasound. CJ held him, gave him his lolly and rocked him like a baby. When I went back to the doctor yesterday, Charlie went with me to have my Glucose test- he said," Mommy, Tummy, Baby" and pulled up my shirt. He remembered that we have been there to see a picture of the baby the day before!

It's a GIRL- for sure!!! Jerri Lynn!

We had a 4D ultrasound today and Charlie got to go see his little sister. When she heard his voice she smiled!!! It is hard to tell on these scanned pictures, but she is smiling in this picture-so sweet. We can paint the nursery pink now! We are so blessed and excited and can't wait to meet Jerri Lynn. She is measuring 2 weeks ahead- she weighs 3 lbs and 14oz!!! Not exactly sure how accurate the ultrasound measurements are, but she may be big little girl!!!

Making a cake for Daddy!

Today is Daddy's 34th Birthday!! I had so much fun making him a cake- I put a whole egg (shell and all) in! Mommy and I had to start over, because the mixer was on and the shell got all crumbled in the cake! Then, I wanted to taste it. It was sooooooooo yummy!!! Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!!

Potty Training????

Yesterday, Charlie said-"Diaper" and started to take off his diaper, so I asked him if he needed to sit on the potty. He ran to the potty and Tee Teed on it!!!! Then he said, "Stinky" and he had done his business in his diaper. This morning he said "diaper" and had already done his business, but I put him on the potty and he went TT!!! Not sure if this is just a phase or if he wants to potty train hisself. Let me asure you- this is not my idea!!!

Baby Girl Jacobs!

Here are some pictures of our baby girl Jacobs. Not sure of her name, but CJ keeps calling her Jerri Lynn. Jerry was my Daddy's name and Lynn is my middle name and was my sister's middle name. My Daddy went to be with the Lord in 1996 after a 7 year battle with cancer and my sister went to be the Lord in 1972 (before I was born.) She had bone cancer and was only 10 years old. Baby girl Jacobs will be the first girl on my side of the family in 16 years! My nieces are both 16 and I have 4 nephews. CJ's sister is pregnant, so we will have another nephew in January!!

BABY GIRL!!

We found out today that we are having a baby girl! We are so thrilled and know that Charlie is going to be the best big brother! We are so humbled that God is blessing us with this precious baby. Her heartbeat was 132 and she weighed 12 ounces. Today is special too, because it would have been my parent's 52nd anniversary!

The Charlies

This is my friend Charlie Duda. My Aunt Stephanie keeps him and mom kept him while she, Ree, and Buck all went on a mission trip to Jamaica. Mom wanted to go to, but since she has a baby in her tummy she helped Steph by keeping Eli and all the puppies at her house! I had so much fun with my friend Charlie. He is only 6 weeks older than me!
