Basketball, baseball and turtle search

Charlie had his last basketball game yesterday for the Celtics! Daddy and Coach Brad worked hard with these fellows.  Charlie finally scored his 1st goal at the last game!  We were so excited and proud of him!!

Emily, Jon, Asa and Aaron got to be there for it, so that was very fun!  Jerri Lynn is sad for basketball to be over, because she enjoys going to the games to play with Elizabeth.  That is Asher (Charlie's friend's) sister!  Tae hopes he can play soon!

After the game, Charlie had to go have evaluations for baseball. CJ took him and they had 5 pitches and were to run on the 5th.  He had played fall ball- machine pitch, but was very much just learning to hit the ball.  He only had about 2 hits the whole season.  Well, on Saturday after not practicing at all he hit 3 balls in a row- and the coach said, just go ahead and run!!! WOW! Not sure where that came from, but he has one proud daddy!!!

Saturdays are typically chore days around here, so we were cleaning out the tortoises' cage- the kids love to let the turtle run around the back yard and get some exercise.  Charlie told Jerri Lynn to watch the turtle and he was going to play on the zip line.  She decided to play too- after about 15 minutes of fun on the zipline, I said, "Where is the turtle?" Of course, no one could answer, so we started our frantic search! We looked all over the back yard, in the neighbors yard, down the roads etc… We couldn't find him anywhere:( Daddy was getting upset over the lack of responsibility.  I prayed with the kids about the turtle and was completely sure he was GONE FOREVER!!!!  Everyone was crying and Charlie said, "I don't want him to die", we prayed that God would protect Buck- the turtle and that he would bring him home to us.  As soon as I said, "AMEN", Daddy told the kids to come look- it was BUCK!!!!!  He had buried himself in some dirt behind the detached garage!  Thank you Lord for answering our prayer!

We asked Charlie what he learned about the experience- he said, "Never let Jerri Lynn babysit Buck again"!

Tae kept saying, "I pet the turtle, he so cute"

Thank you Lord for leading us back to the turtle!
